I was commissioned by Globe Pequot Press to author their “Food Lovers’” series, featuring their marquee city, San Francisco.Writing my first book about one of my favorite things–the food in San Francisco–was both exhilarating and challenging. How does one pick just 270 restaurants in a city with over 3500 restaurants?
Due out in December 2011, The Food Lovers’ Guide To San Francisco features over 250 of the best restaurants in San Francisco, and never-before-published recipes by the chefs of San Francisco. Amongst the superstar chef lineup in the book is Chef Suzette Gresham of Acquerello, Chef Mark Sullivan of Spruce, Chef Samuel Hernandez of Albona Ristorante and Chef Justin Simoneaux of the brand new and hip Boxing Room. With coverage of the city’s food culture and an entire chapter dedicated to recommended itineraries for dates, meetings and quick trips, I tried to make the book as versatile as possible for both tourists and residents alike.
